Support

Our group offers support in many ways.

  1. Monthly Meetings

We meet every first Saturday of every month at Ninewells Hospital, in Dundee. These meetings are held on Level 10 (lift available behind reception in the main concourse), in the Boardroom, where we will be waiting with a friendly welcome. Our meetings start at 11am and finish at 1pm.

Most people and their families find these meetings to be very beneficial and informative. Not only do they provide various demonstrations and speakers, but there is also an information table crammed full of leaflets and publications to read through.

Members also have the opportunity to talk to each other about their problems relating to Fibromyalgia, and as most people know it is a lot easier to talk to someone who can relate to you and understand how you feel.

The meetings are for sufferers of Fibromyalgia, their family and friends, but unfortunately, we do not have a crèche or facilities for children.

The kettle is always on for a cuppa and we even have biscuits.

Our meetings are relaxed, friendly, informal and supportive.

There is an entrance fee of £1 per person and there is always a raffle to help raise funds.

  2. Social Events

To help keep the funds healthy, we have a number of social events which include, Bingo Evenings, Quiz Nights etc. This gives everyone a chance to socialise and get to know one another.

There is no better way to get to know people and it also helps to give you a distraction from your illness and relax a little.

  3. Newsletter

All members receive their copy of the newsletter prior to the monthly meeting, regardless if they are able to attend or not, and this gives support to the people who are housebound and unable to come along

  4. Helpline

There is always a contact number to call for help and advice, as well as the friendly voice to talk you through a crisis.

  5. E-Mail Address

You can also keep in touch by e-mail if you need help and advice.
